Why Eastwest

What actually makes a difference

Four things, all of which are decisions rather than claims. You can check every one of them while the work is happening.

Registered & insured

  • MA HIC #187722
  • General liability insured
  • 20 years in business
  • Residential work only
  • One contractor for finish and structure

Carpentry and painting under one schedule. Repairs get primed and sealed in the right order, nothing is installed before the dimension it depends on is fixed, and there is one person responsible for the result rather than two pointing at each other.

  • Prep decides the finish

On a normal interior, more hours go into repair, sanding, masking and priming than into rolling paint. That ratio is the difference between a finish that holds and one that needs touching up inside a year.

  • Built for how you actually live

Most of our work is in occupied homes. Rooms are sequenced so you keep a kitchen, a bathroom and a route between them, dust is contained at the room, and the site is cleaned at the end of every day.

  • Straight answers about scope

If a refresh gets you most of the result, we will say so instead of quoting the larger job. If something we open up turns out to be structural, you hear about it that day with what it means for the price.

How it works

From first message to final walkthrough

  1. 01

    Request an estimate

Tell us what you need and send a few photos. That is usually enough for us to say something useful before we visit.

  2. 02

    Site visit

We look at the work in person, check the things that are not visible in photos, and talk through what the job actually involves.

  3. 03

    Scope and quote

You get a written scope and a price. What is included, what is not, and what would change the number.

  4. 04

    The work

Rooms sequenced around you, dust contained, site cleaned daily. You know who is coming and when.

  5. 05

    Final walkthrough

We go through it with you under the lighting you actually use, mark anything outstanding, and handle it before we pack up.

A tight service area on purpose. It means we can get to a job quickly and come back for a punch-list item without it being a production.

Reviews

What homeowners say

I've worked with Darragh on several home projects, including a full bathroom renovation, electrical work, and door replacement — and I couldn't be happier with the results. He's reliable, professional, and incredibly detail-oriented. The quality of his work is outstanding, and he always takes the time to explain options and ensure everything is done right.

It's rare to find someone so dependable and easy to work with — I've already recommended him to many friends and family, and everyone has had the same great experience. I plan to continue working with Darragh for future projects and can't recommend him highly enough!

Common questions

Before you get in touch

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Send us the details and photos of the project and we will come back to you. For most jobs we will want to see it in person before giving you a firm number.

Can one contractor really handle both the carpentry and the painting?

That is the point of how we work. Running both means the sequence is planned once, repairs are primed and sealed correctly before finish coats, and nobody has to be scheduled twice around somebody else. It is also why there is one person responsible for the result rather than two pointing at each other.

Do you work in occupied homes?

Most of our work is in occupied homes. Rooms are sequenced so you always keep a kitchen, a bathroom and a route between them, dust is contained properly, and low-VOC coatings mean interior rooms come back into use the same day.

What towns do you cover?

Norwood, Westwood, Walpole, Dedham, Canton and Sharon. We are based in Norwood. If you are just outside that, ask — it depends on the job.

What is the difference between a refresh and a full remodel?

A refresh works with what is there: paint, fixtures, surfaces, trim. A remodel changes what is there: layout, substrate, structure. The honest answer for a lot of kitchens and bathrooms is that a refresh gets you most of the result, and we will say so when that is the case rather than quoting the larger job by default.

How do I get a realistic price without a site visit?

Photos. Close-ups of anything damaged, a shot of the trim detail, and a wide shot of each space tells us far more than a room count. Our estimate form is built around that, and it means the number we give you is much closer to the number you pay.

What are your hours?

Monday to Saturday, 7:00am to 4:00pm. Closed Sunday. Estimate requests submitted outside those hours are answered the next working day.

What's the biggest mistake homeowners make on a remodel?

Starting demo before selections are locked. On a kitchen especially, every delay after demo is a day you do not have a kitchen. Lead times on cabinets and countertops set the schedule — not labour.
