A local contractor who finishes what he starts
Eastwest Painting and Restoration is owned and run by Darragh Oldfield. Eastwest works exclusively on residential projects in Norwood and the towns around it — painting, carpentry and full room renovations. Not commercial, not everywhere, not everything.
The thing that actually distinguishes the work is that the finish and the structure are handled by the same team. On most renovations those are two contractors and a handover, and the handover is exactly where the problems live: trim installed before a dimension is settled, exterior wood replaced after the painters have gone, repairs primed by nobody because it was not in either scope.
Running both means the sequence is planned once and there is one person responsible for the result. It also means we will tell you when a smaller job is the right one. If your kitchen boxes are sound, cabinet painting and new counters gets you most of the way for a fraction of a remodel, and that is what we will say.
Most of our work happens in houses people are living in. Rooms get sequenced so you keep a kitchen, a bathroom and a path between them. Dust is contained at the room rather than sent through the HVAC returns. The site is cleaned at the end of every day. None of that is remarkable — it is just the difference between a contractor you would use again and one you would not.

Westwood is next door to us, and a large share of what we do there is exterior work. The mature tree cover through much of the town is lovely to live under and hard on paint — shade holds moisture on siding, and north elevations stay damp long enough to grow things.
